Current BMX Freestyle World champions are coming to Simple Session

Like a tradition already, Simple Session hosts a majority of the best BMX athletes from all over the globe. At the 20th anniversary event, both Australian Brandon Loupos and American Hannah Roberts, who were crowned the 2019 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World champions, will come to showcase their talents.

Besides winning the World champion title this year, Brandon Loupos has also won two BMX Park World Cup events (2017 in Budapest, 2019 in Hiroshima), a gold and a bronze medal at the X Games. Hannah Roberts is a two-time World champion (2017, 2019) and has won the BMX World Cup Series overall four times. In the line-up of the event, there’s also the 2018 World champion, American Justin Dowell.

Simple Session has been bringing the top riders to Estonia, this time we’ve got seven men and six women out of the top ten from this year’s World Championships.

“Bringing the top riders to our home has always been one of Simple Session’s goals,” said one of the main organizers Risto Kalmre. “This way we can see with our own eyes to which heights the level of BMX athletes has reached. It’s awesome. This is also the best learning material we can possibly give to our own Estonian BMX riders. Just come and watch it!”

“The fact that Simple Session has become one of the best-known action sports competitions and that the International Cycling Association UCI BMX Freestyle World champions from the other side of the World are attending it, speaks for itself,” said the president of the Estonian Cyclists’ Union Raivo Rand. “The Union is delighted to contribute to the creation of different disciplines and developing them in this interesting and quickly changing world, and that we can work together on the mission of getting an Estonian BMX rider to represent us at the Olympic Games.”

BMX Park is an official Olympic Sport now, the best 9 men and women will step into the spotlight and on the battleground next year at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
