Simple Session Street Series 2026 kicked off Wednesday in Balti Jaama Hoov. First time in years this thing’s gone fully outdoors, street-style, judges and crowd standing just a couple metres from the action. Ukrainian rider Andrew Nesterov walked away with MVP prize, and Ken Klein was the best Estonian on the day.
Four obstacles, one afternoon, and riders throwing stuff nobody’s seen at Simple Session before. Toms Silins, longtime BMX team member and MC for the event, said the level was exactly what you’d expect: high, and international.
“I’ve always loved that people fly in from all over the world for this. Every continent was repped today, and riders were pulling completely new tricks, stuff that hasn’t gone down at a comp before,” Silins said.
Nesterov, 22, took the MVP spot with the most consistent, most creative riding of the day. No surprise, since he also grabbed MVP at Simple Session’s 2024 Tartu street event. Ken Klein, 32, took best Estonian honours, riding strong across all four setups and not afraid to try things Tallinn parks hadn’t seen before. He also podiumed third at the Estonian BMX Freestyle Street Championships this July.
Riders’ choice award went to 17-year-old Sasha Cambon from France, and a special shoutout prize went to Argentina’s Gaspar Guendulain, 30, known for his front-wheel wizardry.
Also on the start list: reigning Estonian champ Siim Ennuvere, runner-up Andreas Taru, plus Chris Tilk, Markos Serojev, and Jarmo Tähe. 31 riders, 19 countries, one Balta hoov. Simple Session’s now 26 years running, and the tour rolls on to Riga this weekend for ROW Baltics.
Day two’s location is weather-dependent keep an eye on Simple Session’s socials for the latest. Plan is street jams in Tammsaare Park from 14:00, wrapping up around 18:00 at Viru Keskus’ Hämarik Plaza. If it rains, socials will have the real-time updates.
