She’s a big fan of Metallica, but don’t let that scare you, the young woman is actually really sweet and supportive of newcomers to the sport. Throughout her life and BMX career, she’s had to deal with mental health issues and is very open about it on her social media so that others can draw inspiration from it. The life on two wheels has turned her from somebody that used to be terrified of flying to one of the most-traveled athletes in the sport. She’s also created an Instagram page – m1ndtricks – that is all about discussing the mental health of action sports athletes.
When riding, Nikita stands out with her full-face helmet and it’s very positive to see somebody showing that safety is important, especially in such a sport, where the slightest mistake could cost a lot. She’s a great competitor with big tricks such as 540 Airs and she’s been fighting hard through the ranks to be able to represent Switzerland in the Olympic Games.
