The 2024 Simple Session brought the heat back to its roots in Tartu, Estonia—where it all began. This year’s event carried extra weight, celebrating Tartu as the European Capital of Culture for 2024.
Held in the vibrant Comb Factory district, the competition delivered an unforgettable vibe. Riders took on an 800m² custom-designed course by the legendary Nate Wessel, making every trick and line a masterpiece in this one-of-a-kind setting.
Ramp Jam kicked off Simple Session in style. On Thursday afternoon, a custom skate ramp was built on the river ferry Koit, creating a one-of-a-kind setup that had riders launching tricks—and sometimes themselves—straight into the Emajõgi River.
The trick competition was nothing short of spectacular, with skaters and BMX riders pushing the limits. The title of Best Skateboarder on the Emajõgi went to 22-year-old Brazilian Pedro Quintas, who wowed the crowd with his skill and style.
